Why It Matters
It matters as we should do the following whenever taking a look at the goal.
The most important steps:
- Have a goal
- Act towards it
- Sense where you currently are
- Compare the current position with the goal
- Align and steer towards the goal
My Thoughts
I feel this is an interesting concept because it tells us that the real intelligence lies in understanding the deviation and then aligning to fix that deviation. Deviations are just like waves. They will keep coming to steer us away from our path, but we must recheck, review, assess what our current position is, make the necessary adjustments, and then steer towards the goal itself.
In simple terms: Deviation > Review > Course Correction > Steer Towards Goal > Repeat
Deviation is a part of the goal itself. We consider that deviations are bad. They are not. They are necessary. However, being said that, alignment with the goal is equally important. Otherwise, you’d just drift away.
